War is a acceptable option only when both sides can not make an agreement or when one side is not makeing any effort towards what others are asking of them
War is far from good. There are many other options that should be considered before war. Few good things come out of war, but many bad things including death comes from war.
There are certain things that I would risk my life for. Some of my beliefs and values would make me risk my life as Gabriel said above. Friends and family are easily things I would risk my life for.
#1 I think war should definitely be the last option on any conflict. I agree sometimes war is the only solution, but I feel that war is the best option when all other possibilities are tried before thinking about going to war even if war is the easy way out.
#2 Well I never really thought about it, but I would definitely risk my life for those that I love and also for what I believe is right or wrong (to an extent).
I think war is not the best option. After weighing out the other possible outcomes then maybe, just maybe, war is the right choice. War doesn't and won't solve all the problems...
I would risk my life to save another and for loved ones
I would say that war should not happen until it is completely necessary. If more and more bad things are happening, like being attacked and innocent people dying; then something else should be done. Like war.
War is the sum of all evils, and it should be treated as with the death penalty. Once you start, you cannot go back, and as General Douglas MacArthur once said, "You cannot begin a war without the will to win it."
War is the best solution when there is any type of disagreement. If someone doesn't have the same opinion as you then there should be a fight to the death (WAR) to see who is right because both people can't be right at the same time.
War is never the BEST option. War should only be used as an absolute last resort, when all else fails and the only thing that can be done to preserve the values of a country. I am not a 100% pacifist; I believe that war does have its place and that sometimes it is the only option. War is justified in response to the slaughter and abuse of a people, as in Iraq; or when a country tries to take over another country or spread problematic beliefs, as in the Cold War.
I would absolutely be willing to risk my life to save the lives of people I loved. I'm not sure if I would risk my life for my country, e.g. join the military or something--it would depend on what the cost would be if I didn't.
I would risk my life for my family, friends, and loved ones. Also, I would risk my life for my country and the innocent people dying for no reason. For example, if a family was just sitting in their home, and someone came in and tried killing them, I would try and stop it by fighting.
I believe that war is only an option when everything else fails. War should not be used right away. Conflicts should be attempted to be worked out peacefully first.
I would be willing to risk my life for my loved ones and if my freedom was in jeopardy. If these things were in jeopardy of being lost I would be willing to risk anything.
This is to Kelsey. As you stated in your answer to the second question "I would risk my life to save another..." Here's a situation for you. What if a mass murderer is about to get fried for his convictions, as you said you would risk your life for another, would you truly take the place of this murderer who possibly raped and killed your entire family?
Risking your life takes a lot of courage and determination and it would take a lot of motivation such as protecting a family member or the ones i love to make me risk my life
Backallyabortionist: I definitely disagree more than one person can be right and war is NOT the best solution when two people disagree. That should be the last option anyone should think about. And plus war can result in many damages it rarely turns out to be a great success besides the victory. Many people, towns, and etc. are damaged or hurt in some way that sometimes can never be repaired.
I am going to have to agree with what Mr. Carlson said at the beginning of class... if somebody doesn't like the same ice cream as you then you should kill them, so if an entire nation doesn't like the same ice cream as your nation then it is time to go to WAR!!!
Yes kristin but those are just small sacrifices that come with being right it is a burden we all must bear in order to be able to rip on someone else and say i am better than u because i am right and u are wrong
Eric: about the Darfur situation, well, then you have the question of should the U.S. stay out of other countries problems for the safety of our country? or even is it our responsibility?
Jeez, you guys. You can't think that war is good. You are taking lives and butchering thousands, even millions. How can you abide this type of behavior.
War isn't just for the fun of killing people. Killing someone isn't an easy thing for someone to do. Usually people feel guilty and bad about killing someone. So war should be the last resort by far. Just like Jessi said.
the last resort for war is when someone simply has a different: opinion, religion, belief, culture, favorite ice cream flavor, government, or way of committing Genocide.
The last resort to go to war would be when another country or group goes to such extremes that hundreds of peoples lives have been taken or are in jeopardy. If all else fails then you must go to war.
I think when there is no more options to solve this conflict then war is the option. But I also don't think that if nothing is being solved that we should wait to go to war because then we should. Because then damaging and dangerous things could happen that would hurt our country or our people. So I feel that when there are no other options to go to war, but we should also not just wait around to go to war either when it is our option.
War is the last resort when talking it out doesn't work and you can't make anything else work. And so many people have died that without war even more people would have died then if you went to war.
Yes this makes sense Amber... I AM SORRY KELSEY, I HOPE YOU CAN READ THIS WITH YOUR SMALL PEA BRAIN. LETS MAKE PEACE AND NOT ARGUE ANY MORE. I WOULDN'T WANT TO PUT ANY STRESS ON YOUR NOGGIN.
Kristin said... Eric: about the Darfur situation, well, then you have the question of should the U.S. stay out of other countries problems for the safety of our country? or even is it our responsibility?
What? You think that 500,000 people dead and 2 million more in refugee camps is acceptable? Do you even care about anyone besides Americans?
I think that war is the best option if it is going to secure peace for a greater number of people over time. You can not let a bully have their way for ever or everyone will be living in tyranny. That is why our nation started to begin with to throw off tyranny and provide opportunity for all people who would come to live hear peacefully.
I think war should only be used when there is no other way to solve the problem. als;dfhal;sdfho;aiwrthisdioasfdiogjerlogvjkaeklagjfdkla;gfja;lfkgjalgosfhio;shfdo;ishofhdo;ishg;iho;ihps;ifho;sifhdo;sihflihfio;hsfoihasfio;asghd;ofhasdofhias;odfhiawo;ihfao;ihgaishergo;iwrhgoiwrho;wig
backalleyabortionist: You call those small sacrifices? What if your family was part of that sacrifice, your children, wife, brother, mother, etc. Would you still call that a small sacrifice then?
The last resort up to the discretion of the country, but I would say that reasonable "last resorts" would be genocide, defense of an ally (after failed peace talks), or an invasion of our own soil or overseas assets, again without hope of a peaceful agreement.
I think that war is an option that is to often justified. By noble cause but have at its true root the desire to generate money or power for a specific group of self interested people.
i actually agree with eric.. everybody says when there are hundreds of peoples lives at death, well than why does NOBODY step in and help save thousands of lives in darfur? there could be so many lives saved bt we would rather fight a war on terror rather than help out somebody else
Amber: Lives are disposable. With today's standard of living, we like to pretend they aren't, but they are. We value life and the preservation of it, but the truth is only 100 years ago several of our classmates would not have even made it this far--they would have fallen victim to childhood diseases or other problems. People get killed for no reason all the time. We can say it's sad, and it is, but if you concentrate on all the people who die for no reason, you'll never get anything else done.
Eric: NO definitely not that is definitely wrong! what I am saying is that maybe that is what our country is thinking. I do care about those other than U.S. citizens. I just meant that maybe our country is being selfish and thinking of ourselves I mean we are in an economic crisis, sometimes people think of themselves rather than others. That doesn't always mean that they are selfish or wrong, I mean you do need to care for yourself before another because if your not cared for how can you care for another.
fine then we go to war with all of Sudan for being so confusing, but nevertheless we will go to war with them for what they have done... unless there is no oil in Sudan then we would just be wasting our time because come on people what is the point of war without the promise of OIL???
I agree with Eric and Zach, I think that we shouldn't just care about ourselves. We should maybe step in and help other countries too. But we shouldn't get too involved. Getting too involved could cause us lots of problems in the end. I don't think we should get involved in our countries wars unless it is completely necessary.
comment to wrong... There are some things goin on over there in an effort to help Darfur but i completely agree with your comment about war on terror. Although that fight is to save some lives from terrorist deaths, we need to do more to save the innocent lives in Darfur...
I would die to defend my family. My right to practice my religion. To defend people who were being oppressed. If it was happening in this area. I would be willing to fight and die to defend this country if an attack on our home land happened. I would be willing to expend my treasure to help people in need any where in the world. And my primary objection to war is not my own death but that I would have to kill someones. Son,Father, or Husband. Because even the "bad guys" have families
Good point Kristin a war with Sudan would also boost our economy as it almost always does in times of war... I propose the new Economic Stimulus. A WAR ON SUDAN!!!!
Kristin said... Eric: NO definitely not that is definitely wrong! what I am saying is that maybe that is what our country is thinking. I do care about those other than U.S. citizens. That doesn't always mean that they are selfish or wrong, I mean you do need to care for yourself before another because if your not cared for how can you care for another.
Ok you aren't selfish, but you also aren't righteous. Our economy is in shambles, well we could create jobs by increasing war production if we intervine, but that isn't our primary concern here. The economy has strong ties with warfare, but we cannot let our troubles stop us from doing the right thing.
Amber: Well maybe just those few people would not be enough to start a war for. However, if this continues to happen and many more people die then war would be an option(if all else fails) and those people wouldn't have died for nothing.
If anyone would like to join the army Eric and I are creating to go over and take on this Darfurian threat please let me know, or email one of us, your help is welcome and appreciated
yes jared, as a country we focus more on fighting wars for our own common good.. we should stop with the war on terror, we really need to focus on helping out with other countries who need help.. we can get involved in foreign affairs bt they should be towards a common goal to better the rest of the world, not a fight against a few middle east countries to stop a couple hundred terrorists
War is the best option when there is no other peaceful option left. I would only risk my life for something that I was completely for or if it was a loved one.
I believe that war should def. be the last option, because there is nothing good that comes from war. Unless you like seeing people die or suffer or loose everything. If your going to war you better have a pretty good reason for it, because war cost a lot and not just in money. If I had to die for something it would be for the ones I love.
War is an inevitability in almost any case since it is the easiest to create and maintain. Until we lose our aggressive and territorial urges war will always be present and inevitable.
War should be your last option, you should try everything else that you can before you go to war. If and when you go to war you should be fighting for something you believe in and your willing to die for and you love!
Ah that is indeed the philosophy but it is not realistic due to our aggressive, territorial, and violent tendencies. Unless we become genetically modified to no longer fight or defend ourselves war will be the only thing we are sure of.
And not all people have the bravery to risk themselves even for their loved ones Jade. I personally can do that due to my bravery and large quantity of passion for beliefs and loved ones.
Kesler you shouldn't point out Kara's because you said you wouldn't risk your life for anyone, so why should she risk her life for you when you wouldn't do it for her?
But like what we were talking about Friday, true love, I thinking you can truly love someone if your willing to give everything for them, even if that means your life. I'm def not the bravest person in the world but I would die for a loved one.
War is far from good. There are many other options that should be considered before war. Few good things come out of war, but many bad things including death comes from war.
There are certain things that I would risk my life for. Some of my beliefs and values would make me risk my life. Friends and family are easily things I would risk my life for.
war isent to bad of an idea but only on certin terms like if you have a disagreement with some one over there cloths or how they look but if some one gets killed or something then no war is not a good idea
yes i would die for my country and fight for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
I would honestly give my life for anyone, just because I have a heart and obviously some people couldn't even do that for their loved ones! That's sad. Completely pathetic kesler.
War should happen if people are being killed and you have tried many things to stop it from happening. It should be a significant amount of people everyones life matters but if like three people die then you shouldn't go to war.
So your saying even if one of your loved one dies and thats only 10 people that have died so far your going to wait for like 90 more people to die before you go to war??
War is the last option when all of the possible peaceful options have been exhausted. Or, if there is a major attack on our soil. There needs to be a larger amount of people being killed, not just a very few but we do have to intervene sometimes before a situation gets out of hand.
War is only good when diplomacy fails.
ReplyDeleteI risk my life for all my beliefs and values
i dont think that war should be your first it should be your last option
ReplyDeletei would risk my life for my loved ones
War is the best option when everything else fails.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't know what I would risk my life for because it has never happened yet.

War is never the best option it should be used as a last resort.
ReplyDeleteI would risk my life for the safety of my family
war should be a last resort. If things are getting bad and that is believed to be the best thing.
ReplyDeletei would risk my life standing up for my religion.
#1 I think war should definitely be the last option on any conflict. I agree sometimes war is the only solution, but I feel that war is the best option when all other possibilities are tried before thinking about going to war even if war is the easy way out.

Nice poetic phrase Eric...
ReplyDeleteI think it is okay to go to war when a country goes against Jus ad Bellum.
ReplyDeleteI would be willing to risk my life it somebody wants to do something bad to this country.
I think that war should be the last option, but it is the worst idea ever and whoever came up with the idea has issues.
ReplyDeleteI would risk my life for my family and friends.
War is the best solution when there is any type of disagreement. If someone doesn't have the same opinion as you then there should be a fight to the death (WAR) to see who is right because both people can't be right at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI think that it depends on the situation, but for the most part I don't think that war is the best option for most situations.
ReplyDeleteAgain, I think it depends on the situation, but only if I was forced to would I risk my life. For example like a draft.
war should be the last possible resort.. only to be used when there is no more options
ReplyDeletei am not sure what i would risk my life for, since i have not yet came across a thought or instance where i would consider it
War is never the BEST option. War should only be used as an absolute last resort, when all else fails and the only thing that can be done to preserve the values of a country. ReplyDeletegive eric a break kelsey, its not his fault that he has an opinion
ReplyDeleteI would risk my life for my family, friends, and loved ones. Also, I would risk my life for my country and the innocent people dying for no reason. For example, if a family was just sitting in their home, and someone came in and tried killing them, I would try and stop it by fighting.
ReplyDeleteI would probably risk my life to save a child, as well.
ReplyDelete~Chloe
Oh hush...
ReplyDeleteI was commenting on it because he took his time and thought out what he was going to say instead of YOU
Marissa, then what about the Darfur region? Hunderds of thousands of dead people and still no UN or USA intervention?
ReplyDeletewar should be avoided at all time and should be sought as a last resort.
ReplyDeletelife should only be given up for things u love
I believe that war is only an option when everything else fails. War should not be used right away. Conflicts should be attempted to be worked out peacefully first.
ReplyDeleteI would be willing to risk my life for my loved ones and if my freedom was in jeopardy. If these things were in jeopardy of being lost I would be willing to risk anything.

ReplyDeleteI definitely agree with Morgan. I would fight for our freedom at any time.
ReplyDeleteBackallyabortionist: I definitely disagree more than one person can be right and war is NOT the best solution when two people disagree. ReplyDeletethere is a disagreement between several of u and should probably be resolved peacefully not using negative words
ReplyDeleteI think your heart is 3 sizes too small...kinda like the Grinch...hmm
ReplyDeletewar should be your last option
ReplyDeletei would risk my life for my love ones
WAR IS BAD LIFE IS GOOD NO ABORTIONS

ReplyDeleteWAR IS BAD LIFE IS GOOD NO ABORTIONS
Kelsey how can you say say that when you're saving the life of the person who took your family from you? I don't believe you would truly do this.
ReplyDeleteZach you need to calm down and take it down a notch
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS INTENSE
ReplyDeleteHI KELSEY!!

ReplyDeleteAmber stay out of this!!
ReplyDeleteWar isn't just for the fun of killing people. Killing someone isn't an easy thing for someone to do. Usually people feel guilty and bad about killing someone. So war should be the last resort by far. Just like Jessi said.
ReplyDeleteWell then whats your solution ERIC
ReplyDeletewar should used if lives are in danger and going to war will save innocent people from DEATH
ReplyDeletewhen they have been killing a lot of your people and it keeps going
ReplyDeletethe last resort is when major places are getting attacked like 9-11 and thousands of innocent civilians are being killed
ReplyDeletethe last resort for war is when someone simply has a different: opinion, religion, belief, culture, favorite ice cream flavor, government, or way of committing Genocide.
ReplyDeleteThe last resort to go to war would be when another country or group goes to such extremes that hundreds of peoples lives have been taken or are in jeopardy. If all else fails then you must go to war.
ReplyDeleteDr.Phil knows ALL
ReplyDeletewar is the only alternative when thousands of lives are at risk n hundreds of thousands more are at risk of death
ReplyDeleteI think the last resort for war is when several innocent people are dying and the country can't help stop the killing...
ReplyDeleteI think when there is no more options to solve this conflict then war is the option. ReplyDeleteOh really? For some reason I don't believe that one bit. You've already done enough damage to it.
ReplyDeleteAmber not cool
War should be used only if hundreds of people's lives are in danger not only a few.

once again...life is wonderful
ReplyDeletebackalleyabortionist i need ur help i may have impreginationated laura

ReplyDeleteMarissa its okay just speak what your mind is thinking hehe
ReplyDeleteThis is true...
ReplyDeletehi jessi
ReplyDeleteIf anyone would like to join the army Eric and I are creating to go over and take on this Darfurian threat please let me know, or email one of us, your help is welcome and appreciated
ReplyDeleteyes jared, as a country we focus more on fighting wars for our own common good.. we should stop with the war on terror, we really need to focus on helping out with other countries who need help.. we can get involved in foreign affairs bt they should be towards a common goal to better the rest of the world, not a fight against a few middle east countries to stop a couple hundred terrorists
ReplyDeleteIf we want to stimulate the economy so bad couldn't we find a better way than war?
ReplyDeleteEirc very professional
ReplyDeleteHow about we concentrate on what the subject is rather than talking about Paris Hilton.
ReplyDeleteAmber:
ReplyDeleteYes i agree.
U did it again Bush? I am gonna have to raise my rates on you.
ReplyDeleteZach, we aren't raising an army, because I would use it to conquer the world, so it wouldn't go over well to give me command.
ReplyDeleteWar is never the right solution - there is always another, more peaceful way out
ReplyDeleteI'd only risk my life for a person I love, like my whole family - or if I'd save lots of other innocent people's lifes - or if i'd die anyway
Eric, you wouldn't conquer the world. You would be too busy drinking dwarven spirits and belching the ABCs to conquer anything
ReplyDelete1. I think war is acceptable when the lives of the people of the nation are at risk.
ReplyDelete2. I would risk my life for anyone else's for their rights or their safety.
War is the best option when there is no other peaceful option left. I would only risk my life for something that I was completely for or if it was a loved one.
ReplyDeleteWar should be used if all else fails
ReplyDeleteI would risk my life if the country was being taken over or any part of my family
I believe that war should def. be the last option, because there is nothing good that comes from war. Unless you like seeing people die or suffer or loose everything. If your going to war you better have a pretty good reason for it, because war cost a lot and not just in money.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to die for something it would be for the ones I love.
war is not good you always can find an alternative source.
ReplyDeleteWar is an inevitability in almost any case since it is the easiest to create and maintain. Until we lose our aggressive and territorial urges war will always be present and inevitable.
ReplyDeleteI feel that war is the very last option. There are many other options to do besides war. There is a lot better ways to handle the situation.
ReplyDeleteI would risk my life for the people
i think that we should kill everyone thats no like us
ReplyDeletei am not willing to risk my life.
ReplyDeleteWar should be your last option, you should try everything else that you can before you go to war. If and when you go to war you should be fighting for something you believe in and your willing to die for and you love!
ReplyDeletewar should be the last option
ReplyDeleteI would die for my loved ones and everyone else
death to all
ReplyDeletei think you are wrong goodfellowdeeds
ReplyDeleteyou are wrong karly you would not do that
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeletei dont think war is good but the U.S. is the strongest country so once we get pushed around i think we should nuke em
ReplyDeletei would go to war if somebody looks at me wrong... id end them with a hatchet
Ah that is indeed the philosophy but it is not realistic due to our aggressive, territorial, and violent tendencies. Unless we become genetically modified to no longer fight or defend ourselves war will be the only thing we are sure of.
ReplyDeleteHow can you not be willing to risk your life fro someone you love?? Obviously you don't love them.
ReplyDeletei think that war is the only necessary when nothing else works
ReplyDeletei will be willing to risk my life when my family is in danger
war is the best option when there is no other possible way to fix the problem....war should be the last resort i think..
ReplyDeleteyou would not risk your life for me!!! kara
ReplyDeletewar is necessary only when like one side feels threatened and worried that they will be attacked by the other side
ReplyDeletePeople who aren't willing to risk their lives are obviously very self centered and selfish
ReplyDeleteAnd not all people have the bravery to risk themselves even for their loved ones Jade. I personally can do that due to my bravery and large quantity of passion for beliefs and loved ones.
ReplyDeleteno your wrong #44kes!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWar should not be a solution to problems. if nothing else works it should be the last option.
ReplyDeleteI would risk my life for loved ones but not other people.
Kesler you shouldn't point out Kara's because you said you wouldn't risk your life for anyone, so why should she risk her life for you when you wouldn't do it for her?
ReplyDeleteAnd that is where I agree Dez. Kessler really has no reason to speak on that subject whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteBut like what we were talking about Friday, true love, I thinking you can truly love someone if your willing to give everything for them, even if that means your life. I'm def not the bravest person in the world but I would die for a loved one.
ReplyDeleteGood point Dez!
ReplyDeleteExactly. If he can't die for loved ones why should they do it for him?? controlling much....
ReplyDeleteI most def agree with Dez Kesler thats not love.
ReplyDeletewell she still wouldn't risk her life for me but i would
ReplyDeleteill risk my life for a good lookin lady if ya know what im sayin
ReplyDeleteYou just said you wouldn't!!
ReplyDeletei would be willing to risk my life when it's for a good cause and a good cause only...
ReplyDeletehaha lets just get a #44kes hater club
ReplyDeleteThere already is one.
ReplyDeleteIf you look above it says your not willing to risk your life, so which one are you picking??
ReplyDeleteWar is far from good. There are many other options that should be considered before war. Few good things come out of war, but many bad things including death comes from war.
ReplyDeleteThere are certain things that I would risk my life for. Some of my beliefs and values would make me risk my life. Friends and family are easily things I would risk my life for.
Kessler, i'd suggest looking at what somone like me would do. I'd happily give my life for my loved ones or even my ideals.
ReplyDeleteGood point, obviously if he has to sit there and think about it then he probably wouldn't do it.
ReplyDeletewar isent to bad of an idea but only on certin terms like if you have a disagreement with some one over there cloths or how they look but if some one gets killed or something then no war is not a good idea
ReplyDeleteyes i would die for my country and fight for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
War is an option when any amount of innocent civilians are harmed.
ReplyDeletewar is the last resort when a country can no longer have an agreement and innocent people are being killed
ReplyDeleteWar is the best option when everything else tried has failed.....and when there is no compromise between the two sides. Extreme cases
ReplyDeletehoooooooooooooooooooo raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
ReplyDeleteif you can reeeeeaaaaadddd you would see that i would for her
ReplyDeletei think once somebody comes to our land and blow stuff up and attack us. or if 100 innocent people die then i think we should go to war
ReplyDeleteI would honestly give my life for anyone, just because I have a heart and obviously some people couldn't even do that for their loved ones! That's sad. Completely pathetic kesler.
ReplyDeleteWar is an option when you seriously need to stand up and protect your country.
ReplyDeleteΤο Ah ο ανίδεος δεν είναι σοφό
ReplyDeletelets kill every body and we wont have to worry about war
ReplyDeletea couple hundred innocent people needa die b4 we go to war
ReplyDeleteWar should happen if people are being killed and you have tried many things to stop it from happening. It should be a significant amount of people everyones life matters but if like three people die then you shouldn't go to war.
ReplyDeletemeow
ReplyDeletealex what you got 2 say punk
ReplyDeletei think we should go to war when innocent people are being killed and at least 5000 people being killed
ReplyDeleteKesler why would you be willing to kill everyone? Yourself? Kara? Your family? You really have no heart or care about anyone do you?
ReplyDeletekesler needs a life
ReplyDeleteΟ πόλεμος δεν είναι ένα λογικό σχέδιο δράσης αλλά είναι συχνά τι συμβαίνει αναπόφευκτα
ReplyDeleteSo your saying even if one of your loved one dies and thats only 10 people that have died so far your going to wait for like 90 more people to die before you go to war??
ReplyDeletewho agrees????
ReplyDeleteWar is the last option when all of the possible peaceful options have been exhausted. Or, if there is a major attack on our soil. There needs to be a larger amount of people being killed, not just a very few but we do have to intervene sometimes before a situation gets out of hand.
ReplyDeleteso i can spend the rest of my life in heaven with kara and not worry about war
